1. Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (Special Powers) Bill 2011
Provide police and authorised people with the powers needed to promote the safety and security of people attending CHOGM in Perth in 2011, including associated events, functions and activities.
Provides security powers for police and authorised people to use in designated security areas, additional powers to close road and coercive hearing powers to assist in gathering evidence of suspected offences aimed at disrupting events or harming delegates and property.

2. (Cognate debate) Building Services (Complaint Resolution and Administration) Bill 2010;
Provides for an efficient and modernised complaint resolution system for building services delivered in WA.  It also creates a statutory officer called the Building Commissioner as principal regulator of building standards and building services in WA.

Building Services (Registration) Bill 2010;
Will create a flexible legislative framework for the registration and regulation of building service providers.  It will abolish the Builders’ Registration Board, Painters’ Registration Board, Building Surveyors Qualifications Committee and Building Disputes Tribunal.  This Bill works in conjunction with previous named Bill.  The newly created Building Commissioner will be the principal regulator of all building service providers and building standards.  A single Building Services Board will be established.

Building Services Levy Bill 2010
Bill provides for a levy to be imposed on persons to whom permits and building approval certificates are granted under the Building Bill 2010.

3. Building Bill 2010
Sets out the process for setting building standards and ensuring the standards are met through a system to certifying compliance, granting building, demolition and occupancy permits, inspecting building work and reporting on maintenance of essential services in buildings. Bill replaces Parts VII, IX and XV of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1960.

4. Trustee Companies (Commonwealth Regulation) Amendment Bill 2010
The Bill will amend the Trustee Companies Act 1987 to facilitate the regulation of trustee companies by the Commonwealth and as a consequence, to make certain transitional arrangements and to amend the Trustees Act 1962.

The Bill comes about as a result of decision in March 2008 by COAG that Australian Government would assume responsibility for regulating mortgage credit and advice, margin loans and trustee companies.  Each State and Territory is amending their state Trustee Companies Act to facilitate the Commonwealth legislation to give effect to this decision.

5. Fish Resources Management Amendment (Fees) Bill 2010
The Bill will amend the Fish Resources Management Act 1994 (the Act).  The amendments address issues raised by the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation in relation to the fees charged under the Act.

6. Fish Resources Management Amendment (Fees) Bill (No.2) 2010
The Bill complements the Fish Resources Management Amendment (Fees) Bill 2010.  It provides that where a fee for the issue of an authorisation under the Act includes an amount that is construed to be a tax, then the management plan or regulations may impose the tax.

7. Young Offenders Legislation Amendment (Research Information) Bill 2010
The Bill amends the Children’s Court of Western Australia Act 1988 to allow the use of Children’s Court data for some forms of research and to specifically allow for data matching of Children’s Court data to other records used in the Developmental Pathways Project currently being undertaken by the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research.
The Bill also includes minor amendments to the Young Offenders Act 1994 to include reference to the Developmental Pathways Project.

8. Parliamentary Superannuation Amendment Bill 2011
The Bill will amend a number of discriminatory and inequitable provisions in the spouse pension rules of the Parliamentary Pensions Scheme to bring the scheme into line with contemporary superannuation standards. 

9. Charitable Trusts Amendment Bill 2010
The Bill amends the Charitable Trusts Act 1962 to make it easier for the community to support bodies through charitable trusts.
