Janet attended the 100th Anniversary of the Public Health Act 1911 organised by the Public Health Advocacy Institute of WA on 16 February 2011.  The event was attended by people who are involved in public health in Western Australia.  There was also an appearance by "the Queen" (see picture above) to recognise the milestone.

Apart from the celebrations, the event served as a platform to renew calls for a new Public Health Act in WA in 2011 which is able to meet traditional and emerging public health concerns of the 21st century.  A Public Health Bill was drafted in 2008 and the Liberal-National Government has said the Bill is likely to be tabled in Parliament before the end of 2011.
